There are two books with the title Guotinglu 過庭錄 "Records of the past court", one written during the Song period 宋 (960-1279) by Fan Gongcheng 范公偁 (1126-1158), and one, during the Qing period 清 (1644-1911), by Song Xiangfeng 宋翔鳳 (1777-1860).

Fan Gongcheng was a descendant of the writer Fan Zhongyan 范仲淹 (989-1052), but facts about his life and career are not known. His short "brush-notes"-style book (biji 筆記) Guotinglu was written during the Shaoxing reign-period 紹興 (1131-1162) as a kind of memoirs of what his father had told him about literature and other matters of writers and scholars. The language of the book is pure and simple.

It is included in the series Baihai 稗海, Siku quanshu 四庫全書, Shuofu 說郛, Biji xiaoshuo daguan 筆記小說大觀 and Congshu jicheng chubian 叢書集成初編.

Song Xiangfeng's book Guotinglu is 5 juan long.

Yet another book called Guotinglu was written by Lou Fang 樓昉 (jinshi degree 1193), but only a few fragments survive that are quoted in the Shuofu.
