Ji Feng 翼奉, courtesy name Ji Shaojun 翼少君, was an official during the late Former Han period 前漢 (206 BCE-8 CE). He came from Donghai 東海 (modern Suining 睢寧, Jiangsu) and had studied the Confucian Classics Shijing 詩經 "Book of Songs" and the ritual books by Hou Cang 后倉. Ji Feng expecially loved astronomy and astrology. Emperor Yuan 漢元帝 (r. 49-33 BCE) appointed him inner gentleman (zhonglang 中郎), then professor (boshi 博士 "erudite") and finally Grand master of remonstrance (jian dafu 諫大夫). According to the imperial bibliography Yiwenzhi 藝文志 in the official dynastic history Hanshu 漢書 he had written the book Jishishuo 翼氏說 that was a commentary to the Xiaojing 孝經 "Classic of Filial Piety".
