Zheng Hong 鄭弘, courtesy name Zheng Zhiqing 鄭穉卿, was a high official of the late Former Han period 前漢 (206 BCE-8 CE). He came from Taishan 泰山 (modern Ningyang 寧陽, Shandong) and loved studying the various writings of the masters, and also books on law. His first office was that of governor (taishou 太守) of Nanyang 南陽, but he was soon promoted to counsellor (xiang 相) of the Prince of Huaiyang 淮陽. During the reign of Emperor Yuan 漢元帝 (r. 49-33 BCE) he was promoted to governor of Youfufeng 右扶風, in 42 BCE to Censor-in-chief (yushi dafu 御史大夫).
