Zhuangshi 妝史 "A History of Adornment"


The Zhuangshi 妝史 "A History of adornment" is an encylopedia on women compiled by the Qing period 清 (1644-1911) scholar Tian Mo 田霡. The 2 juan "scrolls" long book was finsihed in 1725 and included 5 chapters covering all important aspects of the life of women in the traditional upper society. The book quotes from a lot of sources, from the Confucian Classics to histories and miscellaneous writings.
