Puyang renwu ji 浦陽人物記 is a collection of biographies of people from Puyang 浦陽, Zhejiang. It was written during the Yuan period 元 (1279-1368) by the historian Song Lian 宋濂 (1310-1381), compiler of the official dynastic history Yuanshi 元史.
The Puyang renwu ji, spanning two juan, chronicles notable figures from Puyang. The book is organised into five sections: loyalty and righteousness (Zhongyi 忠義), filial piety and friendship (Xiaoyou 孝友), government affairs (Zhengshi 政事), literature (Wenxue 文學), and chastity (Zhenjie 貞節). It includes accounts of twenty-nine individuals of exceptional character. An additional section at the end of the book, titled Jinshi Timing 進士題名, pertains to those who attained the jinshi degree in the imperial examinations.
In his preface, Ouyang Yuan 歐陽元 (i.e., Ouyang Xuan 歐陽玄, 1283-1357) remarks that Song Lian's accounts of these figures are fair and impartial, free from personal bias, and that the writing conforms to the proper structure and methods of historical composition.
The text is included in the series Zhibuzuzhai congshu 知不足齋叢書.
