Dongxuan bilu 東軒筆錄 "Brush records of the Eastern Study" is a "brush-notes"-style book (biji 筆記) written during the Song period 宋 (960-1279) by Wei Tai 魏泰 (c. 1100), courtesy name Daofu 道輔. He hailed from Xiangyang 襄陽 (modern Xiangfan 襄樊, Hubei) and was a famous writer, but he was also known for his tendency to write books and publish them under the names of famous persons. The books Zhiguaiji 志怪集 and Kuoyizhi 括異志, for instance, were published by him as books of Zhang Shizheng 張師正 (b. 1016), and the Biyunxia 碧雲騢 as a writing of Mei Yaochen 梅堯臣 (1002-1060). In his later years, he was widely hated for his deceitful character. Wei Tai's collected writings are known under the title Linhan yinju ji 臨漢隱居集 (prose) and Linhan yinju shihua 臨漢隱居詩話 (poetry critique).
The 15-juan-long Dongxuan bilu records matters that Wei Tai heard, saw and experienced in his younger years. It was written during the reign of Emperor Zhezong 宋哲宗 (r. 1085-1100) and is quite harsh in its open critique of others. It was first printed by the Chushan Shanfang Studio 楚山書屋 in 1555.
The Dongxuan bilu is included in the series Siku quanshu 四庫全書, Baihai 稗海, Biji xiaoshuo daguan 筆記小說大觀, Hubei xianzheng yishu 湖北先正遺書 and Congshu jicheng chubian 叢書集成初編. In 1983, the Zhonghua Shuju Press 中華書局 published a modern edition, with annotations by Li Yumin 李裕民.
